Wiki lesson

Today we created a wiki page about 'education in the future'. I did my page on what children will learn in the future. We all worked toghether to provide information and give our on views on what we cosidered them to be like. I enjoyed this lesson and though that we worked toghether well.

Research Week

Over the past week we have been on reading week, this week was provided to us so that we could catch up on work given to us. During the course of a week, I was given the task of creating a wiki page on 'Education of The Future'. I also wrote my first essay on learning styles which took up most of my week. However I did find time to fit in social gatherings and slept an awful lot.

Reflective Learning

At the moment we are looking at reflective learning, I have read a number of documents on the subject and found that they contained some interesting information on what reflective learning actually is. After much thought I have come to the conclusion that to improve my methods of learning I should focus more on taking down and reading my notes, I have also considered the idea of keeping a learning journal so that I am able to write down anything that comes to mind and ensure that any thoughts that I think up while working can be keep safe.

Website Presentation

In Developing Key Skills in ICT we were assigned the task of researching a topic that our group found interesting. We decided to choose the topic Zorbing because we were unable to decide on a topic as a group because we all had different interests. When researching out topic we had to identify a number of things to ensure that the website was a secure and reliable website. These included the security of the website and the creator of the site. I believe as a whole our presentation and group work was very successful. We were good at working as a team and listened to the other peoples ideas, each person contributed to the presentation and we presented it as a group.

We were the assigned the task of evaluating another groups presentation to observe whether they had followed the rules and pointed out all the key aspects of the website. I decided to observe the group thats presentation consisted of shark cage diving. Their presentation was very successful they provided plenty of information and pointed out all the key things needed to ensure that the website was genuine. Each individual contributed to the presentation giving their own views and ideas. They showed that the website was secure as you are able to purchase shark cage diving experiences, also inform the class that they were linked to othersites such as twitter and facebook but ensuring us that these were all secure.

Just to let you know in advance that me and computers have a bad history toghether, so I apologise in advance for any problems. I'm 18 and have recently started studying Educational Studies in Swansea Metropolitan University, I decided to study this course because since I was younger I have wanted to teach children, (my nursery teacher use to have to sit me on the naughty seat because I constantly tried to take over her class), I blame this on my grandmother who has taught for almost 30 years.
